Where was N’Sync or Janet Jackson? Heck, how about Brittney Spears?
Look, I’m not a big football fan. In all honesty, I watch for the commercials and the half-time show. I’ve picked my favorites out over the years, thinking back to Michael Jackson’s explosive performance — we have come a long way.
Even compared to more recent years, Justin Timberlake was insanely boring. Not to mention he used Prince, without Prince’s permission obviously, in his act.
Timberlake dropped the ball on this one.
Many have viewed JT as a mega-performer, so it was only natural that he would have the opportunity to host the Superbowl half-time show again, but he left something to be desired.
His dance moves seemed lazier than ever, and the physical stage was non-existent. Every year fans of the half-time show gush about how amazing it is that the stage can be set up in “X” minutes.
Take Katy Perry’s 2015 Superbowl Performance for Example
After Katy Perry’s half-time performance in 2015, I can’t help but expect dancing sharks, electronic animals (being ridden by Perry herself), and amazingly pristine choreographed dance moves — except for the left shark I guess. After Justin Timberlake’s performance during the Super Bowl, I was left feeling like I was in one of those nightmares in which I’m screaming, and nothing comes out. I mean, did he just roll out of bed? Where was the wardrobe crew on this one?
Many fans said they were waiting for N’Sync to join JT on stage — this is probably why the performance seemed so anticlimactic in the first place. Personally, I was waiting for Janet Jackson to show up. But I digress.
